Good morning, readers! It has been such a long time since I have blogged about my Dale Carnegie journey. A few months ago, I took you all along what I like to call a “Dale Carnegie safari”, a deeper look into my 12 – week experience in the Dale Carnegie classroom. During this time, I gained skills that helped me build my self -confidence, improve my people skills and even reduce some stress in my life. If you recall reading my first blog, I referred to the foundation of the course as a “cake”, each with 5 mouthwatering layers of self -confidence, people skills, communication skills, relationships and a positive attitude. The skills I inhabited in the Dale Carnegie classroom I can’t imagine inhabiting anywhere else. It was super rewarding, and I am so grateful for the experience.
So, just to catch you guys up a little bit: I am a GRADUATE of the Dale Carnegie course (woot woot)!!! I graduated the Dale Carnegie Effective Communications and Human Relations course on June 26th, 2013. I had the opportunity of participating in the 12 -week course and the 3 day immersion seminar. These two courses share the same exact content, yet totally different experiences. I learned a lot from undergoing the material in the different time phases, and I found that my communication skills were impressively enhanced after going through two different experiences. It was a journey worthwhile, to say the least.
I also had the opportunity of coaching a Dale Carnegie teen course in the summer, which was AWESOME. Never have I met a group of such bright, enthusiastic, eager -to -learn adolescents. It was my first time coaching, and I found myself learning even more from my coaching experience that time around since I had to constantly teach everything that I have learned and work one on one with participants. It took me out of that “participant role” and into the role of a true coach, which was nerve wrecking at first, yet so sensational.
I am coaching for the 3rd time now in Troy! Super stoked. So for the next 12 weeks, I will be blogging weekly about my journey as a Dale Carnegie Coach, in which I will help participants develop skills that will help them be more effective in their professional life, as well as their personal life. Having such a heart for people and helping people, this is something I know I am going to benefit so greatly from. It is going to be a rewarding experience, and I am glad to be taking you all on the ride.
Stayed tuned and share your comments below!

On Saturday, January 11th, 2013 — All Saturday 8 am to 5 pm, Dale Carnegie Training in Novi, Mi will be holding our first ever immersion seminar entitled “Coaching school”. If you are a Dale Carnegie graduate who is enthusiastic, eager to help others and has a heart for people, coaching school is perfect for you. It is an all day training development program for coaches to learn how to coach during the Dale Carnegie Course. This allows you to retake the Dale Carnegie Course for free and have the opportunity to assist new participants through their journey. You do this by calling them every week, conducting progress checks, presenting accountability for results and overall guiding them to their vision and helping them produce the performance changes they are looking for from the course.
