New Year’s Eve Events in Michigan

Posted on December 30, 2011November 12, 2012 by dcadmin

New Year’s Eve is tomorrow and are you still looking for something to do say goodbye to 2011 and welcome 2012 in with friends and family?

Thanks to the folks at Dale Carnegie of Michigan, we have put together this list of events you might wish to check out.

The Ark: New Year’s Eve.  Spend New Year’s Eve with Ontario’s roots-country original, The Fred Eaglesmith Traveling Show! He’s going to raise the roof, and you can raise a glass. There are other songwriters who populate their creations with small-time crooks, small-town loners, and working-class heroes. But Fred Eaglesmith’s songs stand out for their edge of desperation and their raucous yet bemused humor—and for the incredible energy and on-the-edge quality of his live shows. Circulating on tour from his Ontario farm, Fred harks back to an earlier era of roots music with his raw, driving country soul. “I think the bottom of the barrel is where the answers are,” he says. Best of all, Fred is coming to town with a brand new album, “6 Volts.” It’s pure Fred, and this is going to be a great New Year’s Eve show at The Ark.

The event includes a late night buffet, Champagne fountain, and five rooms of entertainment. Detroit Princess Riverboat: “Rock the Boat” New Year’s Eve Motown Party.  In its seventh year, the “Rock the Boat” New Year’s Eve cruise includes a dinner buffet, party favors, music, dancing, cash bar, and a champagne toast.  Musical Melodies and Motown Memories: Our Motown Dinner is a musical tribute to Detroit’s own great Motown music of the 60’s.

This one will air live from Los Angeles and will be hosted by Clark and Seacrest along with Jenny McCarthy and Fergie. The ABC special will feature New Year’s Eve countdowns from both the East and West Coast.

MTV (10:30pm ET): MTV New Year’s Bash 2011. This one is sure to be a doozie, featuring Pauly D and Snooki from Jersey Shore. Snooki will be dropped inside a ball at midnight from Seaside Heights, NJ. The MTV special is hosted by Whitney Cummings.

Fox (11:00pm ET): New Year’s Eve Live hosted by Nancy O’Dell. David Archuleta, Mariah Carey, and Brandy perform.

Bravo (10:30pm ET): Watch What Happens Live: Andy’s New Year’s Eve party: Hosted by Andy Cohen, the Bravo special will feature cast members of Real Housewives, and Jimmy Fallon.

Whatever you do to bid 2011 goodbye and celebrate 2012, be sure to be safe and celebrate responsibly!  Don’t forget to plan ahead and make a reservation for what promises to be a busy night.  If need be, call a taxi and just be sure to get home safely.  We look forward to seeing you next year!
