5 Ways to Inspire Others

Posted on October 19, 2011August 8, 2019 by dcadmin

Everyone has looked up to someone, or admired something about another person that inspires them.  It is no different here in Michigan.  There are many inspirational people that guide us and inspire to reach our goals.

Those people have certain qualities about their characters that enable them to inspire others.  There are steps that you can take that will awaken those same qualities in yourself.

Stick with what you love.  It’s difficult to inspire others if you are not passionate about what you are doing.  If you are doing what you love, you will keep doing it whether you succeed or fail.  When others laugh at your failures, it doesn’t bother you.  You persevere.  You continue doing what you are doing because you love it.  Others will witness your continued commitment and success and be inspired to do the same.

Be expressive.  Passion is something you must have and be willing to express in order to inspire others.  You can gain a lot of influence just by expressing why you are passionate and excited about a topic.  Being expressive about your passion is contagious because it creates curiosity in people.  They will wonder why you love what you love so much.  Then they will take the time to understand your passion and develop their own.

Keep an open door.  Maintain an open invitation to others.  Welcome them and listen to their needs.  Keep it personal and always maintain a healthy line of communication.  People are more inspired by you when you treat them on an equal and respectful level.

Practice what you preach.  If you want to inspire others to do something then that “something” should be a big part of your life.  You don’t necessarily have to be an expert at it, but you should be passionately involved.  For example, if you want to inspire people to write a novel, you should also be writing a novel.

Stay Positive.  Show optimism to others no matter what the circumstances are.  Work around any failures, learn from them, and move on.  Staying positive expels any doubt that you can make changes in your life, and inspires others to think the same.  Although there will be naysayers along the way, your positive attitude can influence them to change their attitude.  Remember to always find the good in a situation and capitalize on it.  You will be successful in inspiring others to do the same.
