There are a lot of unhappy people in the world. It is simply a fact of life. It is also a fact of life that you cannot change that situation. But you can change yours. The way you react to situations in your life make the difference between sadness and happiness. Of course there will be days when you do not feel very positive and your mind is full of worries, but learning to have a positive attitude and not worrying about things you cannot change will help you get through those days and find the happiness you desire.
You have to remember that your life is what your thoughts make it. If you keep a positive attitude you will see improvements in your life. The saying goes, “When life hands you lemons, make lemonade.” This sounds rather simple, but it is some key advice in finding happiness in your life. When you find yourself faced with a difficult situation, your positive attitude toward it will help you to find the solution you need.
If you are feeling unhappy, remember to look around you and count your blessings. In seeing all that you have, you begin to realize that there is someone less fortunate than you are. Your troubles will seem smaller, allowing you to rationally come up with solutions. Not only will you be able to solve your problems, but you will also feel happier about your life and build on your positive attitude. In taking an inventory of your life you also have a starting point so that you can assess your progress as time goes on. You will be able to see the changes in your life and set your goals for the future.
In looking for your solutions to problems, think of what the worst outcome would be and mentally accept it. Then take action to change that outcome. Since you are mentally prepared for the worst outcome, a better one will make you feel more satisfied. In taking control of your circumstances you can find the solutions that are right for you, contributing to your happiness in life.
No matter what your circumstances are in life, you have to decide what really matters to you and strive to have it and keep it. You cannot have happiness in life if you dwell on the past without moving on to the future. “Let the past bury its own bones.”
