You can’t go anywhere these days without hearing about social media. But do you know that businesses are using it to engage with their customers and amplify their bottom line?
The important thing to keep in mind, however, is that you need to educate yourself about the etiquette, best practices and successful strategies before you jump in head first. Do you know that you should start listening on sites like Facebook and Twitter before you ever post a single message?
These ideas and more will be the subject of an upcoming free event titled “Social Media and Your Business: Gold Mine or Fool’s Gold?” Attendees can enjoy registration, a continental breakfast and networking starting at 7:15 a.m., followed by a discussion and Q-and-A with the panelists from 8:15 to 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 27. “Social Media and Your Business” will be held at the VisTaTech Center at Schoolcraft College, 18600 Haggerty Road, Livonia.
Hosted by WWJ 950’s morning anchor Roberta Jasina, this event is targeted to business owners big and small. Jasina and the panelists will discuss the latest ways businesses in Michigan and beyond are maximizing results by embracing social media. They’ll also explore ways in which businesses are using social media to generate leads, keep up with the industry and monitor the online conversation about their business.
The panelists include:
- Eric Kushner, marketing strategy director, Compuware
- Shannon Paul, social media manager, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan
- Stan Smith, vice president of marketing, Fluency Media
- Clay M. Vorhees, assistant professor, marketing, Michigan State University
- Buck Head, social media director, 98.7 Amp Radio CBS Detroit and CEO of Severely Social – Online Marketing
Advance registration is requested, so check out the website here for more information or to sign up!
