Today the Southeast Michigan Purchasing Managers Index was released and it shows continued increases in hiring by local businesses.
The Detroit PMI increased to 56.3 (where values above 50 generally indicate positive growth.) In addition, it shows 11 straight months of growth, ruling out any spikes or anomalies—this is sustained growth.
In addition, local manufacturers (including auto makers) show better-than-expected growth.
A more thorough look at the report is available from The Oakland Press.
